TGIF

Holy Cannoli's...I didn't think Friday would ever get here!

Update on the kids...

Everyone is happy, healthy and back in school...except for Bear.

The antibiotics seem to be lessening the potency of his seizure med's and he does nothing but sleep and be miserable all day.
With his right eye turning up so much these past few days, it's possible he is having small seaizure episodes in his sleep. With any seizures, kids do tend to sleep an awful lot afterwards..and he definetly is doing that.
I have this feeling that a sinus infection was the wrong dx., which was actually made by another Dr. at the health center I take him to. His actual ped. has been out sick. :0(
That poor kid can't get cut a break this week.

I took this on Monday {same day I took the pic. in the last post} before his crud got the best of him...

No new pic's until he's feeling way better. Which, we know is going to give me pic. snappin' withdrawls so I'll have to find something to click today. Somebody? Something? Anyone? Help!

Here's one of Kolin, just for good measure..

Can you believe on Monday we had almost 90 degree, humid weather, and the next day we were covering the outdoor plants in preperation for a freeze? Talk about some crazy weather this week.

Welp..I'm going to jump off of here for now.
I have several new cute hats going up on the hat site
today, so I have to photograph them.
Cool...I get to photograph something today!! :0)

Have a great day everyone...I'm off to spoil my Bear a little...OK, alot. LOL!!

MMMWWWAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

In the land of the "K" family, where the beloved nebulizer machine runs around the clock with three kids and one husband...we'd like to leave you with this big ole' smooch, which was taken days ago before the broncitious crud took over the Bear.

Girls...that one is for you.

Back to the milk prices...yes, it sure is that much although I was in Publix yesterday to pick up some food stuff and I saw it had come down to $5.89...which had me doing almost whoop hollering doing cartwheels down the isle...but then I again, I said to myself..
"Self...do you really want to risk making a complete dork out of yourself when the 11 cents change won't even buy you a Cadbury Egg, A Hershey or not even a pack of cheap gum?"
"No Self"..I said.."I better just go home now before security is called to escort me out to my family mini van."
And, so I mosied down the soup isle, picked up 10 cans of assorted chicken noodles, a bag of Munchos chips {for my sinfully salty chippy treat for the 5 minute drive home} and went on my merry way.
BTW...Karlio wants me to take my camera into the store and snap a pic. of the price...but I believe that's illegal in this state, and how would I explain that little senerio to my dairy drinking brood anyway?

Have a beautiful day everyone!!!!

Love, Kim

PS. Someone please tell me why, in Central Florida, we have cows on every corner...everywhere We have two local dairy farms. We still pay out the butt. Someone please explain this?
Are they only there for tipping or something?

PPSS. On a brighter note..five out of 6 kiddo's has never had a single cavity. The one that did never was much of a milk drinker when he got old enough to never be at home to eat. Brat.

PPPSSS. They have healthy, strong bones too. I'm so proud of the little boogers.

PPPPSSSS. A little useless trivia for the day...
Kolin HATES chocolate milk. He always called regular ole' white milk "vanilla" and that's how he likes his milk, straight up, no nonsense "vanilla". How cute is that?

A Little Weirdness

For no other reason except I was bored in between the few minutes I had before dinner was ready. :0)

"Eye Spy"

"Nothin' But Net"

Have a great day everyone!!

Oh..yes, I do believe the Cadbury Eggs are getting smaller..and more $$.
Weren't they something like 98 cents for a three pack not long ago? Umm..what's up with the $1.77 price tag this year? :0(
Oh...and don't even get me started on milk. My kiddo's still have a gallon a day habit and at $6.00 a gallon, I might as well buy a cow. LOL!!

Gotta run..love yaz!!

~Kim~

PS. Kody's blogger site was updated yesterday. Link on the nav. bar to your right. :0)

Monday's

Monday's...I'm definetely not a fan of them but these make my day a whole lot easier to deal with...

Cadbury Caramel Eggs...they are hatching everywhere. There isn't one store, big or small that doesn't have plenty of them right by the front door.

SIGH..I really "heart" those eggs. :0)

I had to take Kolin back to the ped's office this morning when, after 1 day of feeling great...he went backwards again. That's two whole days off antibiotics and he crashes.
So, he's been put on another antibiotic because his broncitous is still there, not as bad but not clearing up as fast as they'd like to see.
He's also going to take some prescription cough med's so hopefully he can get some better sleep.
The allergies are still kicking him in the kiester so he keeps taking his Naxonex and Clariton.
Also, he stays on the nebulizer 2 times a day and takes his inhaler as needed.
Poor kid is taking more med's then his brother. :0)
Fingers crossed he'll feel fine in the AM and be back in school.

Everyone else is doing fine...thank goodness for that!

Welp, got to get myself to the post office, the pharmacy, get Kody from school and get myself back home to get some hats made.

Have a great day everyone!!

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

NOT!!!!!!

Welp, not in this home anyway. :0)

While some gals dream of diamonds and gold, others dream of fancy cars and exotic vacations, some even dream of romantic dinners
for two, champagne and caviar.
Not this gal...No way, no how, not ever.

When I dream, I dream of these little beauty's...

Yes, my friends, a Savage Seamless Paper Chart is all it takes for my heart to do triple, backflip thumps.

OK, so a few of you may not have a clue as to what that chart is.

I'll show you a little example, with a little help from my wonderful model, we call "Squirt".

See that beautiful fake painted wall behind Squirt? It's not really a wall at all, I just faked it by using color #29 called Orchid on the Savage seamless paper chart.
All it is, is a 53" wide 12' long roll of heavy paper that I hang from a backdrop stand.
Isn't it cool?
I love them..I love them all. I love them so much that if you look close enough, you can see my handwritten "hearts" penned in the ones I really, really love.

So, as you can all clearly see now, I do have issues...lots of them. I keep my Savage Seamless Paper Chart as close to my heart as I keep my stash of Cadbury Cream Eggs.
I could care less about jewlery and fancy fish eggs...
just bring on the seamless paper...Sigh..... :0)

Gotta run and pick up my boys, on a very wet, snotty, gray day today. They are at karate class, helping the colored belts test this morning. It's a required part of being a black belt...and gosh knows, they love it.

Have a great weekend everyone!! Stay warm all you snowbounds friends out there!!

Love, Kim

PS. Please, please..if you have a minute to spare, check out yesterdays comment box. Take a moment and say a prayer for our friend, Lauren's Gramma. Lauren is my girl...I swear, she is like having two of Kaysha around. LOL...I always wondered what it would be like to have twins, and I always wished Kaysha was a twin. Well..I got my wish, because we have Lauren in our lives..and we just love her. :0)

PPSS. If I don't tell you this Karl will have a cow.
OK..truth be told, Kaysha gets her blonde headed airheadedness from me.
Yes me....I know, hard to believe.
I am the Queen of locking keys in the car.
It got so bad at one point that Karl would tie an extra key to my shoelace everytime I left the house.
I have issues.
I am so embarrassed.
Thank goodness my daughter still loves me. :0)

PPPSSS. Here is a useless trivia fact you probably didn't need to know but becuase of my issues thing, I feel I should tell you.
That bear in the photo was sent to Kody a while ago from one of his awesome internet/Caringbridge familes.
It's a "Hershey" bear, sent right from Hershey, Pennsylvania and it came with real Hershey chocolates.
One day, as Mom's with boys tend to do, we were laughing about gross body things when one of the boys remembered when a few of our family members had the stomach flu.
They rememberd how after a boat load of days of constantly washing under garments I had loudly complained about the yuckafied "squirts".
One of them, I think it was Kody, said "What the squirts?" to which I replied, in a sleep deprived state..
"You know, the Hershey squirts!!"

And since that day, our poor faithful, much loved Hershey Bear, has been adoringly called "Squirt".

PPPPSSSS.
Sorry if you were eating anything when I told that last one. :0(

Take care everyone!!

Happy Half A Year Adriana!

Can you believe it...the baby we've all watched grow up from her birth/one second old pictures is a whole half a year??!!

OK, so technically...she turned 6 months on the 20th, and the photos were taken yesterday...but with all the craziness around here, I figured, better late then never. :0)

Here's a few from yesterday..

This is her typical looking away because I am so much cooler then you look...

This is her typical feelings on hats...

This is her typical "raspberry spitting" face...

Kolin is feeling much better. I took him yesterday for his follow up ped's appt. and his lungs are a hundred times better then they were two days ago, so we were able to avoid chest x-rays.
On the other hand...we were stranded for an hour in a parking garage at the doc's office around 6-7 PM last night when my airhead daughter, Kaysha, took it upon herself to lock the keys in the car.
About an hour later, Kayara had gotten to our home, collected the extra set, and delivered them to us. Poor kid..and she thought she'd have a nice peaceful dinner, relaxing kind of night with Adri.

Kaysha...FYI...your forgiven, although having you walk into the doc's waiting room and asking "how much do you love me, Mom" in front of a dozen other Mom's with small kiddo's, and me saying "No..your not going anywhere" and having you say "No, that's not what I want" and having all the Mom's stare at us and having me say "What?" and having you say "I sort of locked the keys in the car" and having steam floating out of my ears knowing darn well, we don't have an extra car for Dad to bring us a set, and Kayara doesn't exactly live real close and having all the other Mom's look at me like "So, what'cha gonna do?" was just a weeeeeee little bit embarassing.
Oh, and although leaving the doc's and seeing you sitting on a curb in front of our locked up tight car talking to your sisters and your friends and crying "Now I'll never get my licence" and watching you dig in your purse for a Snickers bar to share, so we'd have food rations to share just incase we were stranded for more then 20 minutes was kind of funny...please DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!

As the moral of this story goes...
Kaysha, we'll live through this, and one day we'll look back and laugh our butts off...but, FYI..I was serious on the 6 month licence delay. :0)

OK everyone..I am off of here for now so I can get some new photos together for the hat site.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Love, Kim

**EDIT**
I'm really not mad at her, really. She knows that how we joke. Besides, if I had a dollar for everytime she's threatened me with sticking me in a nursing home..I'd be drive a Ferrari. :0)

Time For Some K&K Outakes

It never fails...put two boys together and you get a recipe for disaster...or craziness...or weirdness..or whatever.
Kody and Kolin, oh my gosh...they are the worst!

Here is Kolin, who is becoming my best "poser", trying to teach Kody how to stand all cool looking and look towards the evening light, you know..for that nice, natural, warm glow.

Thank goodness Kolin has patience...lots of Kody patience..

10 minutes later...Holy Cow...I think the kid has it...finally!

Here we have Kolin telling Kody "Just do what she says and no one gets hurt we get out of here and back to video games soon"

Waa-Hoo....I definetly got some keepers amongst the outakes, which, to be honest with you..I love even more then the keepers..but don't tell them that. :0)

Have a great day everyone!!

"A" is for Asthma..."B" is for Broncitous

And my poor young un' has got them both. :0(

Here he is feeling quite...
"C" is for Cruddy.

But to make his Mama happy, he'll give us a small, quick, split second smile.
One day Kolin...you'll understand why Mom's {and Dad's!} like to record every minute...good, bad, and cruddy....

Now please baby, please get better soon..because your sick leave is leaving me with this...

Oh Lordie..please get my baby better soon...I don't know if the world is ready for The Bear!! :0)

Tomorrow I'll work on some outakes from today {besides the ones above..LOL!!}, the were pretty amusing.

Have a great night all!!

Rainbow Brite

What is it about those silly "Babylegs"...they get to me eveytime..I love them!
Not only do I act like an imature nut when I jiggle her legs and sing "Let's get physical" or better yet..."She's a maniac..maniac".
But, those cute little ole' babyegs sure do make for the cutest photos....

Oh..and nope, your not seeing things, Adri is sitting up on her own and over the weekend took a few foward crawls. Look out world!

Not much else new here...same ole', same ole'
The kids had off from school today and Kolin spent it miserable with his allergy asthma kicking his butt, and his chest..he said it hurt like someone was sitting on him.
I figure another night like last will end him up in the ped's office in the morning for some nebulizer medication. He's already on an inhaler but I'm thinking a neb. will help him as well.

Have a great night everyone...tonight I vow to not stay up late. Oh..who am I kidding? You can't stop a night owl. :0)

Love, Kim

PS. Did I mention that Adriana is going to be featured on the Babylegs
website this month or next? Yeppers..our baby girl is going to make her celebrity debut pretty soon. :0)
I had actually received an e-mail about a month ago from the lady who runs babylegs herself. Purty cool!!

The Last Of The Litter Part Two

He's such a clown, the kid with a million sound effects, the kid with a trillion facial expressions, the kid who is still patiently trying to teach me how to armpit fart and burp on command, the kid who never stops talking....even in his sleep.
Gotta love him though, he is the last of our litter...and he keeps up hoppin' every single dang day, whether we want to hop or not. :0)

Are.......we......done.......yet.......Mom......please!

Congratulations Ryan Newman fans everywhere...we'll catch up to ya next week!! :0)

Love, Kim

PS. Kody is a huge Tony Stewart fan...so you can all imagine how he was jumping out of his seat towards the end. LOL!!

My Baby Boy

Looking at him day to day...he's still my baby boy.
When I look at him through my lens....he grows up more and more everyday.
Will somebody tell me how to slow his growing process down? I'm not ready to have the last of the litter grow up on me. :0(

More to come....

Love, Kim

Go Number 88!!!!

Oh Baby....I have been on a "Baby Wrap Roll"!!

It's Only A Day Away...

Happy Almost Valentines Day!!

Yeppers...the world is a whole lot better in bright colors, especially around V-Day. :0)

~Kim~

PS. "A"...I wouldn't accuse without checking the facts first. Fact is, he did have permission to get some rest. Kody simply cannot put his head down without snoozing..he's been that way forever.
I won't have to whoop ass...Ms. J. will do it for me. Now that's a lady that can get some facts and results
He wasn't disrupping the class in any way.
No disrespect taken. :0).

Swordsmen Warriors

I almost forgot I took these last week...just a small glimpse into the lives of two swordsmen warriors.

I am soooo not a black and white photo person, I love when others do B&W...but mine always look, welp...not good.
I guess I just see the world in bright colors. :0)

Yesterday we had some horrible weather...tornados were just popping up everywhere from Cocoa Beach and headed in our direction. So, Karlio, the kids and I boot scooted it out of here when the weather radio called for everyone to evacuate.
So, where'd we go?
On the top level of Leesburg's brand new parking garage...camera and umbrella ready to snap some cool photos.
The weather radio kept telling us that just a few miles south down the road a funnel cloud was spotted and headed our way...but, funnel dude lost it's gusto and pooped out on us...so we never got to see a thing.
Thank goodness...because coming back to a home with a roof was a kind of important thing to me. :0)

Today I need to get hold of Kody's school and set loose a can of whoop ass.
OK..here's the story..which I am so dang hot about...seeing as I thought all this time that they were doing OK by him.

This week is FCAT Rights week..which is Florida's state testing. The school's get our kids soooooo worked up, soooooo stressed out about these tests, it's insane. I've seen 3rd graders have near panic attacks. All for a test that determines two things.
#1 the school's ratings
#2 whether that child makes it to the next grade.

It doesn't matter if that child is a straight A student with the mind of a genius. If they panic and fail that test...they get left back.

Kolin's been taking his in stride...he doesn't let anything bother him. I mean, he siad he was nervous...but he wasn't freaking or anything.

Kody..the strong, silent type...didn't even clue me in as to what day he'd be taking his. With all the hype with the 4th graders this year..I almost forgot about Bear's 6th grade FCAT.
In order to be able to keep up with the rest of his 6th grade peers, Kody's been going to school early three times a week for extra help/tutoring. He never complains, he just does it, he wants to keep up, he wants to suceed.
By the time he get's out at 1 o'clock, though, he is whooped.

Yesterday he took his FACT's all day and his teacher told him it was OK for him to put his head down and take a little cat nap till class ended.
So he did...and if anyone knows Kody, Kody falls asleep at the drop of a dime.
Anywhos...he was rudely awoken by the asst. principal who came in and demanded to know "what this kid is doing?" BYW...she is fully aware of Kody/"This Kid"
She then send him to the principal's office for "sleeping in class".

The principal pretty much reprimanded him, wouldn't let him get a word in, and told him to call his parents because he was to leave and not come back to school that day..as punishment.
Now, Kody did try to state his side..but Kody's been losing his voice again...and it's being determined that something is going wonky with the signals in his brain telling his vocal cords to work properly. His vocal cords are healthy {no damage/tumors/etc}...but his brain, every now and again...just won't let them work like they are supposed to, so his voice slurs and fades to a whisper.
There is nothing that can be done about it.
So...while he was trying to get the words out...she just talked right over him..which is an easy thing to do..and pretty mean too.

He came home upset about the whole situation, about being woken up to this, about being embarrassed in front of his classmates. I tried to find out if maybe, just maybe, they were concerned for his health and sent him home early but he insisted that what they said and their actions were done in anger.

So...yeah, we may have to go round to round today, that school and me.

When he came home....he slept, and slept and slept, until I absolutley had to wake him up so we could leave our home in a non-scarey, panicky kind of way.

Welp, let me get going for now...Adri will be here soon, I have calls to make, lots and lots of stuff to do while I still can.
Thanks for stopping by...and if you actually made it through my entire rant and rave..

YOU ROCK!!!! :0)

Have a beautiful day!!

Love, Kim

PS. To all our northerners peeps...holy macaroni...stay warm and stay of that ice....OUCH!!!!

Red Head Chicks Rule

Holy Cannoli's...she is up on all fours now and scooting backwards faster then I can back up and focus a camera on her.

Thanks so much for the catapiller advice...LOL...you are not even going to believe the nightmares I had about those nasty boogers last night.
Here, let me try and explain...

Dream Sequence One:
Pods are popping like mad, and wormy things ranging from a couple of inches to five feet were covering everything in our yard. I'm running in circles with a larger then lifesize can of Raid.

Dream Sequence Two:
I'm trying to grab my kids and run away from the popping pods when my hillbilly neighbors start chasing me with bright red socks, insisting I wear them because it is the only way to keep the nasty boogers away.

Dream Sequence Three:
I wander outside with a cup of coffee early in the morning. The birds are singing, Musa the dog is chewing on our yard chairs, the cats are whining to be fed.
I look up and there are no leaves left on any tree in the whole yard.
I drop my coffee, drop to my knees, and start singing the praises of never having to rake again.

Dream Sequence Four:
The pods are shaking, trembling and they look like they are about to bust. They are huge...bigger then a giant mylar balloon and there are hundreds.
I call Terminex and a few minutes later men with weapons of mass destruction show up.
Who are these men you may ask?
THE DARN GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!!!

OK..I am off to make some more coffee. I had a rough night. ;0/

Have a great day everyone!!

Love, Kim

PS. No...that was no prime rib...LOL..I don't think I've ever had a prime rib. That was just some beef meat thing that Karlio came home with and I have no idea what it's called but it wasn't a whole lot of $$. We have a little store/meat shop right around the block and Karl..welp, let's just say that store is his happiest place on earth...besides sitting in front of his smoker that is. :0)
He's already ordered turkey legs and is planning on smoking them with BBQ. Like the "galactic gobblers" you get at Disney this week.
Something tells me, if any of you happens to come to Leesburg, FL on the last weekend of April..you'll be here for bikefest and you just might find him outside of the Exxon station on the corner smoking the tar out of something good.
Stop by..tell him you know me and he'll feed ya. :0)

Beef...It's What's For Dinner

Like all pretty cool guys, Dad Bear starts off his mornings pondering what's for dinner.
Except that instead of asking me what I'll be making him...it's the other way around in our home.
He's the main dinner fixer and I am the happy dinner disher washer.

Since yesterday he had a hankering and this morning his hankering is spending some time in the smoker, outside, where the air is smellin' pretty dang good.

See that red looking stuff on top?
It's real. real, reeaaaaalllll good. I can't tell you what it is though, I am sworn to secretcy.

Things around here are going pretty OK.
I found out that Kody's thyroid bloodwork results are NORMAL!!!
That is great news, believe me it is..it means he does not have to go back on his thyroid med's.
Maybe, just maybe, his sudden need for extra sleep has got to do with..

I hate to even think it...

I try to keep thoughts of it out of my head...

It's bound to happen again, I know...

Oh Lordie, can it be?

Another GROWTH SPURT!!!!

There I said it and I am very sure within the next week or so, I'll be out buying him new shoes and new jeans and new shirts and $300.00 worth of groceries. with his name on it...dang.

My photo shoot last Thursday went really good. Though, it was supposed to rain..it was so overcast, and so gray, but we did it. We rushed, ran, and scoped out four different kick butt locations and the pic's..they came out sweet. :0)
It did rain on the way home...but we were real happy we dodged that super soaker.
I'll have to get permission to show them though...so stay tuned, hopefully they will say "sure".

Welp my friends...time for me to get a move on. You know that dinner I mentioned? Ummm..yeah, I was supposed to be checking on the temp. a while ago. My bad. :0(

Plus, I've got to get some crochet projects done...my lastest stuff is newborn baby wraps. Very awesome, very soft, very sweet, very photogenic, very hot and very trendy these days.

Have a beautiful day everyone!!

Love, Kim

The Pod

I don't know what it is, I don't want to know what it is, I don't know what's in it...but I do know that pod looking thing is growing in a tree right next to the swing/fort set...and there are dozens...
And they are creepy..
And I want them gone!

Hometown Parties and School Dances

Once a year in our neighboring hometown of Fruitland park, where Kolin attend elementary school, the local Medodist Church throws a big ole' shindig where everything is free, everyone is invited and everyone is downright neighborly.

The teens that ran the rock wall were wonderful. Such patience with my two boys who, once they climbed to the top and launched themselves down back to the ground, were back on that thing again.

and again....

and again....

And ahh, yeah, you guessed it...

again...

Finally they took a break to beat the snot out of each other, "gladiator" style..

And then they went back to...yes, rock climbing walls...but I won't bore you with anymore of those pictures. :0)

This was my favorite tent....

I voted for a couple of dudes from "Wildfire Chili"...it was SSSSSSPIC-EE HOT and oh, soooooooo darn good!!!

This was the boys favorite two tents, shaved ice a/k/a dyed sugar in a cup and the soda guy who got quite a workout because while I was happily taste testing 7 different chili's..Kody and Kolin were hitting him up for cola, after cola after cola.

I guess it goes without saying, those two won't be seeing any soda in their future for quite a while.....they're still recovering from their sugar rush.

So, that's where we spent our day today.

Yesterday was Kody's big Valentines Day dance at his middle school.
That is a story in itself..but I'll have to let Kody explain that one.

So...join him at his blog
for his side of the story.

Ahem..here's mine...

Kody asks to go to his dance and we say "Sure".
We get him his ticket mony in and after Karl picks him up from school this past Wednesday Kody asks me to be his date.
Flattered as I was..I thought, "Maybe I should call the school to make sure that's OK"
But..Kody told me he had already straightened that part out.

To which I replied..
"What exactly did you say, Kody?"

And he said a little something like this..

"I spoke to my principal and told her that I have a medical condition called chronic bleeding and my doctor says my Mom has to be there with me"

Me: "You what? Chronic WHAT?"

Kody:" Don't worry Mom, I handled it"

Me: "What did the principal say?"

Kody: "She said Oh Kody, of course your Mom can be there with you. If you need anything at all, if your not feeling good, you let me know"

Me: "Ummm, Kody...I'll call"

Welp, I did call and thank goodness the principal had a good sense of humor when I explained that Kody really doesn not have any bleeding disorder and that he wanted me to be his date because he asked a girl and she broke his heart, and blah, blah, blah..."

Principal: "Mrs. K., why don't you drop Kody off when the dance starts and let him spend the first hour with his peers, then you show up for the second hour"

Me: "OK"

So..the day of the dance was yesterday and I explained to him that I'd be there at 5 o'clock.

I did show up and what I found was a real happy kid looking all goofy and normal, dancing, singing, laughing, having fun..and without me..Brat!
Then, as I sat there with another Mom, sipping on my Pepsi, the unbelievable happened.

First one girl comes up to me and says she's Kody's new girlfriend.
Then another girl comes up and says the SAME THING!
Then another and finally Kody shows up with this cute little brunette and they start headbanging together and now SHE'S HIS GIRLFRIEND TOO!!!

He is sooo freakin' lucky that I love him because I was honestly, seriously stood up.
He did hold my hand all the way back to the car though..guess I should be awfully thankful for that. :0)

Anywhos...visit Kody and he'll tell it like it is.

Ok everyone..I better get going. The boys are getting out of control and they need to put their soda filled butts to bed.

Have a great night!!

Love, Kim
