Well, nothing...except maybe these kickin' pink kicks? :0)

Have a great day all!!

Winterfest 2009 and Friday the 13th

OK, so yes..I am aware that Winterfest was a week ago and that I have been really, REALLY lazy, major chilled out, so far gone I am borderline extreme boring. I know, I am the first to admit.

Anywhos...the Winterfest celebration was pretty darn awesome. And to prove how awesome, check out these guys...

Kody has never been able to make it to the top of the rock wall. Maybe it's his big feet, or maybe it's his balance or maybe because he has no downward vision, but for whatever reason, he's always gotten about three quarters of the way up and dropped.
Guess what? Not this year!
Living proof that if the mind conceives it and believes it, it can achieve it.

Victory!!

Kolin, as always climbs this thing in something like, 2.3 seconds. The kids got speed, that's for darn sure.

This the way us Florida peeps play in snow, cuz you all know it's the only snow we'll ever see...frozen blocks of man made brownish snow stuff.

All in all, it was a really great day.

Let's see..what else is new?

Well, we saw the throat Dr. om Wednesday and hearing Kody try to talk in just seconds Dr. Austin agreed with the "Spasmodic Dysphonia" diagnoses.
Our next step is to take him to a "Speech Pathologist" for an official diagnoses and then to find a medical facility that will treat him with the Botox. However, this could be difficult because seeing this in kids is rare and finding a Dr. who is willing to take the chance on treating a kid is even rarer. We may actually have to travel out of state to either Augusta, Georgia or Nashville, Tennessee.

So, today was Friday the 13th and anyone who knows me, knows real well that it's one of my favorite lucky days. No.I am definitely not superstitious. LOL!
To celebrate, tonight I tool the kids to see..what else? Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th.
It was pretty good. Kaysha got scared, Kody got scared, Kolin and I laughed the whole time. You gotta do way better then that to scare Kolin and me. :0)
Anyway, Jason is pretty cool, Michael Myers is cooler and Freddie just rocks..I mean honestly, nobody can kick a$$ like Freddie can.

Well everyone, I'm gonna have to end this here tonight. It's getting way late and I've got to get up pretty early tomorrow. You see, there are these kickin' black high heels that have been calling my name for days at Payless Shoe Store and I decided for some crazy reason, I simply cannot live without them another day. Being female is great, seriously it is. LOL!!
Besides..Payless lovingly sent me a spiffy 15% coupon and we can't let that go to waste can we now? :0)

Have a great day everyone!!

The Day We Froze At The Sanford Zoo

Last week Murphy's Law was in full frozen effect when Kolin's 5th grade class, plus one warm weather worshiper volunteer Mom, packed up our multiple layers, winter coats, hats and lunches and set off for "The Sanford Zoo".
Kim's Murphy's Law states...
"If there is an outdoor educational class trip to take, it will be the coldest, record breaking, day of the year".
And...it was.

Therefore, with the whole "my fingers are so freakin' frozen I can't feel them anymore, why don't they sell coffee here, when can we go home, I need a Starbucks NOW" poor attitude I had, not many photos were actually taken.

Here's a few though...

Kolin, obviously thrilled about having to wait his turn to touch 42 degree water with bugs and stuff in it...

Freezing his keester off examining the pond life under a microscope...

We were lucky enough to escape indoors for about 8 minutes. Whiney me children, made that possible.

Awesome, cool lizard...

Another lizard of some sort. Click to enlarge to really see the horny detail, I mean...scaly things, or whatever..just click.

And this beauty, an eagle who stayed so still I actually thought it was stuffed, till it moved and I jumped about 3 or 4 feet upwards. Darn thing scared the life outta me.
I am not one with nature.

That's about it..it was time to go back outside, much to the complaining of myself those poor innocent Florida raised children and learn more about bugs, plants and OMG, F*R*O*G*S!
{sorry, I don't say the "f" word cuz we all know exactly my take on bug eyed creatures with sticky feet. *pass out now, why don't I*

Oh..one more thing, did I mention our bus driver that day was straight right out of the Simpson's cartoon? Remember this name, "Otto" and watch the Simpsons one day. Yeah...it was an adventure, that's for dang sure.

Yesterday, it was a balmy 75 degrees and we took off for Fruitland Parks annual "Winterfest" celebration at our local Methodist church. It was fun, it was warm, and it was a great way to keep my two hellraisers entertained for 4 hours straight. Don't you just love when the kid's get old enough as to where there is no need for constant watching over. Yeah..it was great, cut them loose and work my way over to the chili contest in peace. Fun times baby, I'm telling ya.
Those photos still live in my camera so at some point today, I'll pull them off.

In the meantime..I've got to get going because hats need to be shipped tomorrow and there is only one way of that happening..if I get off of here and get it done.
Also..just a quick note..a nasty little bout of food poisoning {thank you so much Wal-Mart's not so fresh as I thought raw vegies} took me down for a little bit, so If I have not responded to any e-mails, I will get that done today too. I'm not ignoring you...I'm really just trying to catch up, which is how I spend most of my life anyway. lol!

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Sunny, Tropical, Warm Florida...NOT!!

OK, so I know I have been known to spend some time whining about the cold and how much I hate it.
But..this morning it was 29 degrees. That is 29, two...nine and that is COLD!!!!!

Now, had I spent today in my cushy home with the heat on and the coffee pot blasting or heck, even in my cushy office, spoiled by the heat and the extra space heaters I probably would have been OK.
But...as my luck goes, today was a 5th grade field trip that I volunteered for a month ago...a month ago when I stupidly assumed it was be warm out.
This field trip of Kolin's was at a zoo..and outdoor only, learning zoo and let me tell you..we froze our butts off.

Just to prove that I cannot possibly make this stuff up, here is a quick shot of the blueberry bush farm right down the road from Kolin's school.

*click to enlarge, but only if you want to feel colder*

Yes my friends..that is ice you see hanging on those blueberry bushes.
And...it was ice you saw hanging from our freezing cold, spoiled, thin Florida blood skin that, if you were at the Sanford Zoo, you would have seen too.
Pictures of that will follow in a day or two...Kolin would be the one bundled up beyond any kind of recognition. I would be the one barely talking pic's at all cuz of the frozen fingers factor.

Hope you all have a great night...stay warm, drink coffee, crank up the space heaters..I will be and I won't stop until summer. :0)

Rainy Days

Rainy days, that's what today was..all day. While they are typically not good for taking the camera outside, they are real good for pulling up photos that I took last week and forgot about.

Not much else to blog about tonight so I'll get off of here but before I do, I just want to say..have a great night everyone!!

Second Dans

Introducing Kody, "Second Dan {pronounced "Don"} Member #17,199....

And Second Dan Member #17,200, Kolin...

Yes, my friends..they tested, they rocked it and they passed into a second degree black belt with flying colors, kicks and punches. :0)

Here's a few from Friday night, though I have at least 120 more to go through.

Kody's board breaks were awesome..they just kept giving him things to break and he'd go through them like it was cutting through butter. There is nothing that kid couldn't put himself through.

Kolin's creative form, "Psycho-Social" was PHENOMENAL!!
It was so perfect , as a matter of fact, that I couldn't take my eyes off of him, therefore...didn't get many pic's of that. Believe me though, it was intense and I honestly have never seen a creative form done as perfect as his was.

All in all, the night couldn't have gone better and we are so proud of those two, second degree belts, can you believe it? :0)

Welp everyone..it's "Superbowl Sunday" and the wings, jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks are almost done so I better get going.

Have a great night everyone!!

Love, Kim
