And Mu Sa Kwan Tang Soo Do First Don member 17,200 Kody Kruppenbacher..

Lsat night was incredible..absolutely amazing, there are really no words to describe.
I'll let the pictures do the talking becuase I have alot more to show you.

Right now though, the boys are at a sword seminar {black belt only...how cool is that?} and then a meegeekie {I know I butchered that spelling....but it's a 4 foot staff/stick} seminar out at Venetain Gardens. So, let me grab the ole' camera and head out.

Talk to you all later!!

Love, the most proudest martial arts Mom ever in the entire whole wide world. :0)

Woo Hoo! Congrats.

I'm just another silent supporter following Kody's story and the beautiful pictures on the blog.

I think I checked the site 20 times last night waiting to hear how it went.

You boys, I mean men, should be proud of yourselves! Awesome.

Congratulations Boys, er Men!

Way to go Mama and Papa Bear on raising such amazing guys.

Congratulations men. Your new dobacks are stunning. A year or so from now I hope to watch my older son (who will be 9 or 10 depending on how quickly he moves through his blue and brown belts) test for his first dan in Tae Kwon Do. His dojang is very traditional, no weapons, and they don't get to break until they reach brown belt. But I will be as proud as your mama is right now. And as those who study martial arts know, you are now beginners all over again. Best of luck on your continuing journey.

Hi Kim...I feel so stupid asking this but hey - Does getting thier black belt mean the boys have passed the final level? Is that as high as they can get - if it is its incredible. I'm so pleased for them - and you! Love and prayers

I finally have been able to get on here and read the GREAT news! I am so proud of you guys, Kody and Kolin!! Remember this is only the beginning of your journey.

My son's Tae Kwon Do school had their black belt extravaganza this weekend and we were there to watch it. I was thinking of you guys. At that time I didn't know how you guys did, although I knew you both would do great.
My son should be able to test for his Black Belt one year from now!

Kim, I know how proud you are. Just watching the students at my son's school *I* was feeling pride for the students and they were not even my own! LOL
Martial Arts is definitely one big family.

I love the pictures of the board break. I was trying to figure out Kody's break though. Was it a hammer fist break or palm break?

Great Job Kody and Kolin --- Keep kickin' some butt ;)

That is so IMPRESSIVE!
Congratulations Kody and Kolin - you guys have worked hard and deserve this!

Lisa, I hope Kim doesn't mind my answering your question! In our school all the colors are the equivalent of martial arts preschool--learning the components of the art and some basic ability to put them together. When you earn your first degree black belt, you are now a beginner! There are a number of levels or dans to be earned on your black belt requiring many additional years of practice and study. Black belts are expected to know and remember all of the previous belts' forms in addition to their current form--which is really an incredible accomplishment.

Hope that helps a little and maybe Kim can fill in the differences with Tang Soo Do (since my guys do traditional Tae Kwon Do).
