Good Bye Miss Glenda

I hardly know what to say, my heart is truly broken this morning.

Miss Glenda Sanders, my friend, my inspiration to write, my Kody Bear's only newspaper interviewer that we would allow to write about him.

She had the best sense of humor, loved Bear as much as I do, laughed when at the age of 6 1/2 he drenched her with a fire hose while she tried to take his photos, she was with us throughout Kody's journey from the very first week of his brain cancer diagnoses, she loved to write about Kody's happy times...not the gloomy ones.

She inspired me to start a journal, to write from the heart, she taught me the power of prayer, to never give up, to treasure each day.

Last May, while having lunch and interviewing me for an article about Kody, about our family, about his new "tic's", about his martial arts, she confided in me about her ovarian cancer.

She looked great, tired as she was going though her chemo treatments, but beautiful as always.

It never occured to me that she wouldn't make it...I always assumed she would beat her cancer.

Just moments ago, Karl found out that Miss Glenda passed away.
My heart is broken, the tears won't stop, I have lost a priceless friend.
Nobody ever will share Kody's story through the newspaper..that was her job. Nobody write like she did, nobody ever will.
But...for Miss Glenda, I will. I will write about every triumph that child gives us. I'll do it for her, for myself, for Kody and for you all.
Why? Becuase she loved to hear about her Kody's accomplishments. She cried when he had his downfalls.

If ever anyone followed a little advice from me, please do this...

Love your friends, embrace friendship, go out to lunch, have an ice cream cone, laugh, love, live.
Phone a long lost friend. Please trust me on this. You just never know. There isn't a second chance when it becomes too late.
Do it for me. Do it for Kody Bear. Do it mostly for Miss Glenda.

Kody came home with a horrible headache about 10:30 this morning. I can't tell him. Not today. He is going to be devestated.

I have to go now.....

~Kim~

I am so sorry about Miss Glenda! I know how you feel my aunt has been battling ovarian cancer for 7 years now. They sent her home from the hospital yesterday with hospice. It is a silent cancer and nothing to detect it until it is too late! We will be praying for you all and Kody!

I am so sorry about Miss Glenda - she sounds like an amazing woman! I know how you feel my aunt has been battling ovarian cancer for 7 years and just got sent home yesterday from the hospital with hospice. It is such a silent cancer and know way to detect it! All I have to say is if you are a woman going to have a hysterectomy(sp) have your doctor take it all out! I wished I had known then what I know now and all of my parts would be gone! We will be praying for you all and Kody! Tell Kody we hope that darn headache goes away soon!

Good advice, Kim.

You just never know.

I will keep Miss Glenda's family in my prayers.

Hugs to my Kody Bear. Remind him how much joy he brought to Miss Glenda and modern medicine couldn't even do that for her.

Ohhh...K-Klan...when I saw the heading for today's post I had a bad feeling about what I was about to read. I definitely remember you asking for prayers for your friend, Miss Glenda. I'm SO sorry for your loss. I know Kody is going to have a tough time with this one. Just know that she will be his guardian angel, looking down on him and his wonderful family. Try to keep your chins up, as you prepare for Kyle James' wedding on Saturday.

So much heartache lately for such a wonderful family. I'm truly sorry.

Love,

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine the pain you all are feeling right now. This has not been a good month for your family. I hope that things take a more positive turn for you all soon.

I for one am grateful always to Miss Glenda for inspiring you to write. I enjoy your blog and can't imagine not reading about you and the K clan every day. She left a heck of a legacy in you and Kody bear. :::hugs:::

Kim,
I am so sorry for the loss of Miss Glenda. We also lost a very good friend this week. My highschool friend passed away unexpectedly on Sunday of a massive heart attack. He was not only our friend, but also the hometown Dentist of our small community. It's very sad, but I do know we have 2 new awesome Angels watching over us.
Holding you all close in prayer.

Kim,
Though no words can fix your broken heart, may Miss Glenda live on through all she has done for Kody and all the things she incouraged you and your family to do.
