Adriana's Update

SHE IS BACK HOME!!!!!!

The Dr's have determined she had a sleep apnea episode. She is now back on her monitor when she is sleeping or going on a long car ride.
Also, her Momma and Dad had to retake a CPR course before they were allowed to leave last night.
It was a very long, stressful and tiring 24 plus hours but it is over and we made it through another hurdle.

Now, I don't know what most people think about the "afterlife", and I am sure there are a lot of different opinions and many may not agree and that is fine. However, because it gave us some comfort, we like to believe that Kayara was purposely woken up by someone at 4 o'clock that morning, out of a sound sleep and nudged to in and check on Adri.
Had she not have gotten up to check on her, we 100% certainly would have lost Adriana that night as she had literally just stopped breathing {not sure how long but it was long enough to leave her unresponsive}.
Who do you think was there at 4 that morning? We believe her Daddy/Grammpa was.

We also like to believe he was with KK {sending her music} the night before when she broke down hard and at that Jets game tossing that ball himself through the goalpost in the last 3 seconds winning that playoff game by 1 point. :0)

That man had a VERY busy weekend. LOL.

These were taken August of 2009. Adriana had just tuned 2 years old.

The boys and I will be spending a low key kind of day at home today. We might go out for a walk/bike ride. We'll probably play a couple of games of Yatzee {OMG I do NOT like board games but Kolin does, he gets that from his Dad} and I am throwing myself into knitting me up another sweater. I am trying to keep my mind busy. So far I had to rip it out once...and I just started last night. By the time I finish it it will most likely be summer. lol.

Thank you everyone for all the prayers.

I was asked to leave my PayPal address by a couple of people so here goes.

I was thinking the same thing.......what was her Mom doing awake at 4am checking on her. What were the odds of that? Yep....Karl was on duty!

SO happy to read that Adriana is back at home and doing well! Praise the Lord! I LOVE the pictures you posted of Karl with Adri - I love the expressions on his face - totally attentive to his little girlie, just absorbing her sweetness...and happy to be a family man! Just precious and I know these pictures make you smile. Karl was a wonderful mixture of tuff guy and teddy bear! : )
I hope you guys have a peaceful day together. It's gonna be COLD here in south Alabama.
Hugs,
Lynn

I'm so glad Adriana is back home!! And I also believe Karl was there. I completely believe that our loved ones who are no longer here on earth are always with us. I love this poem (not sure who wrote it):
Today I found a penny,
Just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
This little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven.
That's what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
To make a smile out of your frown.
So don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue;
It may be a Penny from Heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.

I've found pennies in the strangest places. In places I KNOW I've just looked at and nothing was there. I pick up every one and smile because someone special is thinking of me. Hugs to you K's.

Yes, I think an angel was looking over that beautiful baby. And, I love Peyton Manning, but I was happy to see the Jets win like that for the K Klan...your update seems more upbeat today...just seeing a few lol's in it made me smile...wishing you much peace, some fun and happiness today...it is what your sweet hubby, their daddy and grandpa wants for each of you...continued prayers and hugs from GA

YAAAAYYY!!! So glad Adrianna is out of the hospital ~ and I love the pics of her with Grandpa. :) Your post sounds a bit more enlightening, in many ways, and even though you don't like board games, I'm glad you guys are doing that together. (Kolin, I love board games too.) I also love hearing all the ways Karl is keeping watch over you. It makes my heart smile for the first time since hearing your heartbreaking news.

I rarely comment but have followed your blog since Koday was super little and you had a caringbridge page.

I just wanted to tell you that I've been praying for you since I read your post about Karl. And then 2 days later my father-in-law passed away too. And everytime I pray for my husband and brothers (he was the parent they were close too as his parents are divorced) I also pray for you, Kody, Kolin and all the other K's.

Know that you and your family will continue to be covered in prayers as you grieve and adjust to a new normal.

Thanking God for a healthy Adriana.

God Bless!
Meredith

And I agree with you, Karl did have a busy weekend!

You can't know how happy I was when I read that Adriana is back home where she belongs. Fantastic!

Yes, I would say Karl was a very busy man and usually they take a bit before they make their appearances, but he was right on it. I was thinking of him the entire time I watched that Jets game.

Great news about Adri- and I agree that Karl is with all of you all the time and will be your protector forecver.

Kim, you mentioned knitting, I wonder do you know how to sew/quilt? A few years ago a coworker was killed in an accident and his wife & her friends got together and took his clothing and made quilts for his kids, wife and mother.

I thought that was an incredible way to keep him close to the people who loved him and at the same time, family heirlooms were created.

I don't know much about sewing but if you're interested in doing something like this we could try to pull a bunch of people together one day and all we need is one person who can tell us what to do.

I know today is going to be a tough one and full of memories. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there to keep you company. Look back with love and know that Karl is with you.

Glad to hear Adriana is doing better. I do believe in the afterlife. Too many similar stories out there about near death experiences and other things. I do believe Karl woke up her mom just in time. He was such a good family man I am sure he is watching over all of you.

I've followed since the CB days but never commented. I've been heartbroken for you all over your loss. Hearing about Kayara waking up at 4am to find Adri in time reminded me of a similar story in my family and it was definately Your Vinny that woke her up.

My 35 year old sister died very unexpectantly in 2007 from sudden cardiac death. About two weeks after her death, my aunt and her family were doing some yard work. Her husband was mowing one area, her 13 and 7 year olds were raking leaves and she was sitting on the grass weeding her garden with her 9 month old sitting next to her playing with toys. She said all of the sudden she felt something brush the back of her neck and her hair stood on end. She jumped up and saw her baby had crawled away and was in the bottom of their pool. She swears that my sister alerted her. Thank God she knew CPR and their neighbor that was is an EMT was home as well. Her baby survived and is perfectly healthy and normal today.

They are always near by. He is always right by all of you. He'll always be busy looking over you all.

I know right now it feels like you've been hit in the chest with a baseball bat and there's a neon sign in your brain flashing that they are gone. At least that's how it seemed when my sister died. I know it's hard to believe right now but things do get different. I can't say easier or better, but different. Missing him will always be there but you all will be able to laugh and enjoy life again. He wants you to.
