And because Thursdays are extremely busy round here, after the errands and the day time running and the school pick ups and 35 loads of boy laundry and 5 loads of sheets laundry and time spent tracking down last weekends newspaper cuz my kid was in it and I had no idea till he told me last night and of course the two hours of football practice that I sooooo look forward to *insert eye roll right about here*, I figured I'd jump on here ever so quickly and say...

"HEY!"

And also leave you with a snap of my kid who was in last weekends newspaper {but didn't tell me till last night}, who btw, has been, according to his coaches and team members...

"the most bad ass offensive front lineman they have had in years"

The News About The Bear

The heck with getting things done, this is long overdue. :0)

As we all know, High School can really make or break a kid.
Trust me, personal experience, I know this to be true. Some kids are leaders and some kids are followers. I've got 6 kids, some are either one or the other.

This kid here, my #5....



He is a leader.

Last week another kid came up to him inbetween classes and tried his best to talk him into skipping class, not just skipping out but with the promise of turning him on to some drugs.
What did our Bear say?

***try not to take this the wrong way, we keep it real here***

Bear's exact words were...

"Man, f**k you" and then he walked away, head held high.

Later on that same day Kody found out that same kid was caught and lead out of school in handcuffs.

True this may be just a small step in growing up, but in my Momma opinion, in this day and age, this was a HUGE step in growing up and showing the max in maturity.

God, I love that kid. :0)

Last Weekends Game

I figured I'd better get last weekends game in before this weekends is here in two days.
I am awfully slow about this, but life is busy these days. :0(

Anyway, here's my waterboy passing out some "high quality h2o" lol...



Kolin is on "special teams" and "offensive left tackle" {I think, don't quote me on that cuz I am football stupid, but I am learning a little more each week, for example the "G" line does not stand for "ground". I found that out just the other day, thank you Vinny, Kolin & Kody}

He's really great at what he does, which is blocking that kid or kids in front of him from getting to his quarterback {I guess???}....



They do a lot of this, I don't know why. That's Kolin right there to the left of the big guy with the orange shirt...



And this, which I was told is the "huddle" and that means they are doing, um..., they are talking, wait they are discussing plays or something. Anyway, I know for a fact they are not talking about shoes, which is what I ultimately ending up talking about all of the time...



Sorry, not many pics this past week because this particular stadium is still being built which means the bleachers were closed off and we had to sit kind of a slant on our beach chairs on top of a grassy hill. It was awkward and I didn't move around much. I am extremely clumsy, enough said.

This weekend is a home game, YAY for my gas tank, not so much for my GPS which BTW...got us there and back with no problems at all. WOO-HOO for GPS!!

Speaking of shoes {yes I was at one point}, I have got to get a picture of my NEW SHOES!!
Heck Yea the Vinny Man came through once again and surprised me with another rockin' pair of platform stilettos in black this time.
More on that very soon right now I have got to get Wild Man to school.

FYI Kolin's Game

I can't believe I didn't get back on yesterday. Last night when I was about to, Leesburg had an enormous black out.

Anyway, Kolin's game is at 3 o'clock today. I don't know the name of the field but the address is:

17235 7th Street, Clermont.
Kody and I will be there under the big rainbow umbrella and Kolin's jersey is #78.

Here he is at halftime a couple of weeks ago {I haven't taken any new pictures since, my bad}...



We were out in Orlando that day a few miles from Orlando International Airport, and so although this has nothing to do with anything, I must have amused myself by taking 30 assorted pictures of different airplanes that were flying over us every couple of minutes. :0)



I got my new GPS all fired up and in a few hours we will be ready to roll.
I will soooo blog if I get lost, that ought to be a hoot.

Hats For The Babes

I have to put to good use the time I spend sitting in the car waiting on school pick up lines and the time I spend sitting on a camping chair at football practice, so the babies in my life get a few cute hats this fall/winter.

First are a few for my Adriana...



The one in the middle is a beret, sooo cute. :0)

These are for a friend's grandson...



In order, I call them and elephant tail, a pumpkin and a chocolate & aqua fair isle hat.

On my needles this moment is a "Top Down Raglan Sweater" in Eggplant purple. It's actually for me and of course it's gotta be in my favorite color.
It's called "top down" because it's knit from the top...down, so no seams to sew which works for me. All in all, it's a pretty simple pullover for when it finally does get chilly here...in about 3 or 4 months. :0)

I should probably take some snaps as I go, huh? Yea..I forget, a lot. hehe.

Well, that's about all that's new around here. Time to pack up for FB practice and get home so we can watch some Jets FB tonight.
Truth be told, me and Vinny will for sure fall asleep before it's over, but it's the thought that counts..right?

Lifestyle

When Kolin first joined football I was told by another parent, "It's not just a sport, it's a lifestyle". Man....they weren't kidding!

Now that school is in session, we have homework and football and dinner and more homework and lemme tell ya, the list...she just goes on and on.
Weekends are spend traveling mostly to Orlando for games and trying to keep up with what I didn't do during the week.

Now Kody wants to join his school weight lifting team and go back to karate and/or PWCST {combat training}.

But you know, other then being a very horrible blog neglecter {which will change once I adapt to the new routine} it's all good. :0)

Kolin is kickin' some bootie on the FB field, after a little "chat" with the commissioner {Leo, this ones for you dude} and after maybe saying something like "Look I'm not trying to be a bitchy first time parent here but I'm effin' pissed" and maybe having another parent back me up standing a few feet away and saying "I agree with everything she says" after a few positive changes that maybe resulted from that 30 minute "chat" in the rain....

His coaches have realized that this kid of ours is a powerhouse and since then he has been in every singe offensive play and the special teams kick off team and they have won every game since.
His coaches LOVE that kid now!!

Kolin is a wall, he lets nobody thru.
And as things go, I tried to quote the Momma in "The Blind Side" {an AWESOME movie!} and tol dhim...

"I am your quarterback and all these people are out to get me, you gonna let them? Yea..I didn't think so"

His Dad pretty much told him "You are the Mack truck and the other team are Volkswagens, what happens when a Mack truck meets a Volkswagen? Yea...that's what I thought".

He may be the skinny kid with the 6 foot legs, but he is strong, that's for sure.

Anyway...the rest of us are doing good.

Kody is settling into his new high school real well. He really loves school. He really loves girls. He really loves girls in school. That's all I have to say about that, except that he is now 6'1" and outgrowing everything he owns, and he's only just turned 15. God help me.

Knitted hats are coming soon...lots and lots of new knitted and adorable hats.
Also, I created a "Bella from Twilight" hat, the green & gray striped one she wears in the woods. I'll have a picture of that up soon, I made it for the Twilight lover in our family for a Christmas gift.
If you want one for yours...just let me know. I should have a photo up in the next couple of days.

I joined a knit-a-long last week and am working on a purple sweater pullover for me. So far it's going great and keeping me in my "zen".

Not much else going on here, just busy...busy...busy all of the time.
