Trapped One!

A typical scenario...
I bust out the camera and we get a runner. It's a tough life being followed by the paparazzi, I know.
However, two days ago after an insane crazy day at school...I got me one who was too dang tired to go anywhere. Go Me!!



I'm going to try and tucker out his big brother today and maybe he'll stay still for 5 minutes too.

Looks like this weekend will be spent getting my groove back. I've got a family photo shoot this afternoon and two baby hats that need creating and mailing right away. It'll be a very busy, but very fulfilling weekend, that's for sure. Thank you to Tasha for pulling me out of my rut. :0)

Kody's update...after going back to the Dr. round two this morning, he now has bronchitis in addition to strep. They changed his med's from Amoxicillon to a Z-Pack, plus he has an inhaler, albuterol vials for the nebulizer and some heavy duty cough syrup that is knocking him for a loop. Yep,he is one miserable pup. :0(

Other then that...things are just rolling right along.

Seagulls

Nothing too special this morning cuz I am running late, as always. LOL!

These seagulls remind of of the ones in the "Finding Nemo" movie..the ones that say "Mine....Mine". They stay perched up there and no amount of jumping up and down and waving your arms will get them to move...but let some innocent family open up their lunch and watch how fast they fly away. :0)

The Simple Life

True happiness comes from within, surrounded by the people you love, enjoying nothing more then each others company.



These last two are my happiness. :0)

I grew up on a beach...actually it was a lake called Sparkle Lake. My Mom had a hot dog/snack wagon and everyday she'd bring me, my brother and sister with her. Us kids would hang on the beach all day and at lunchtime we always knew where to go.
When I watch my two boys play in the water, the sand...burying each other and building mansions {not castles, so they say}, chasing the seagulls, taking walks close to shore, catching marine life in bright colored buckets, and making new friends but never splitting up the brother twosome, I get reminded of life as a kid..a long, long time ago. LOL!
When I look into the eyes of those two I am reminded that their Dad and I are responsible for their childhood memories that one day they will look back upon through the eyes of their own children.
Spending the warm weather months living the simple life, coaxing seagulls to grab pieces of bread out of their hands are what sweet memories are made of..at least I think so anyway. :0)

I'll have more pic's later. Right now I have to get Kolin to class. Kody is home sick with what the Dr thinks is strep {he has all the signs and symptoms}. The 5 minute test came back neg. so she ran the 24 hour one. Just incase, she put him on a 10 day course of antibiotics, just to be on the safe side.

Happy St. Patricks Day

A little sweet treat for ya'all...



Just a quick story for tonight.
Some of you may remember that 5 years ago today Kody had his pretty devastating grand mal seizure...his very first seizure and luckily his only grand mal..or as Kody puts it "Kody..Unplugged".
Anyway, that night was St. Patrick's Day and the kids celebrated with green cupcakes from Publix.
As kids do when they seize...they give back whatever they ate that day and that night we all wore Kody's green cupcake. {sorry!}
I've never, in all these years been able to bring myself to buy St. Patrick's Day green cupcakes from Publix again...that is until this morning when Kody convinced me to "get over it Mom, it's been 5 years"
So...with Kody's blessing we bought Publix green cupcakes for dessert.
BTW...a little more advice I got from Bear today was "Instead of sprinkles or jellybeans on mine, maybe we should put some of my seizure pills on it instead". LOL!!

While there was no space shuttle to shoot last night because it got delayed until tonight, there was however, this totally awesome orange full moon just hanging there, real low, waiting to get shot.

Beach Babies

It may be fall by the time I get the rest of the beach pic's up..but here's one for tonight. :0)



Those two would live on a beach if it were at all possible.

So, did anyone else go out and shoot the full moon tonight? I did, but, I shot it too late...it was way cooler when it was first coming up, low and light orange. Hopefully, I'll have some better luck tomorrow.
Oh..speaking of tomorrow...the space shuttle is going up at 9:30 pm or so. I plan on being one of probably 300 peeps waiting at Lake Harris to watch it come up over the water with the moon in the background. Crazy, I know...but if you can't live a little crazy then what's the sense of living anyway? :0)

Yesterday we took off to a day at Gulf Island beach..a small beach on the west coast which is still not a tourist trap. It was one of those get away, clear your head, chillax on the beach kind of days.
I've got more pics to show ya'all but right now I have to put my memories of the beach to the side and psych myself up to another long 8 hours in a windowless office. :0(
Why in the freakin' world are the only windows in the place in the bathroom, I have always wondered.

Florida Sunset

Last night we were invited as VIP's to a benefit concert for ROCK Camp {Reaching Out to Cancer Kids} in the Villages.
We got there a little early and as I was making a dork of myself laying on the ground to photograph flowers {gotta get down to their level, ya know? LOL!} Kolin pointed out how beautiful the sun looked on the far end of the parking lot as it was settling down for the night.
Isn't this just amazing?



The concert was all country western and alot of fun. We met a young girl who name is Nina and let me tell you, that girl can sing..WOW!! Heck, she sang "Jesus Take The Wheel" and in all honesty...Dad Bear had to go get me some kleenex.

We were invited on stage and were asked to speak about Kody and ROCK Camp. Kody did an awesome job at the mike and Kolin, being as cool as he is, helped interpret as best he could. I wish I had a photo of the two of them because when they were done, they hugged each other and everybody in that crowd just clapped so hard for them. I am sure I heard a bunch of "Awwwww's" too. :0)
Anywhos...we all took a quick turn to speak and although I don't know the exact amount of $ raised for Kody's camp..I am sure it will help make a difference in the lives of a whole bunch of cancer kids this summer.

I don't have any actual pic's from last night, since we were all on stage an all..the paparazzi had to leave her camera on her chair.

Oh..one more thing. We didn't know it, but there was to be a huge spread of every food and drink you can imagine. Well, not knowing we made sure to feed the boys before we left. Well..in true K&K fashion..as soon as those two were invited to chow down, the chowed, and chowed and holy cannoli...chowed some more. LOL, this I would hope would take a huge dent off the grocery bill those two supply for me each week. However, first thing this morning Kolin is back to telling me how starvin' he is again. Dang I wish I could stay at a continuous 98 pounds no matter how many, errrr, Kolin I love you but here goes, no matter how many burgers, pepperjack cheese slices, chips, salsa, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, grapes, and soda pop I ate in a single hour.
Damn...I think I just put on three pounds typing that out.
Looks like it's time for me to hit the sidewalk and get to walking this morning...with Kolin of course, the little brat. :0)

Peanut Butter Cookie Time

Whats good on a chilly, windy day? Peanut butter cookies made by my boys baking in the oven, that's what.



BTW...eating them is even better. :0)

We took Kody to the speech pathologist and he did confirm Kody's diagnosis as "Spasmodic Dysphonia". There are two kinds of SD and as it turns out, Kody has a mix of the both.
Botox may or may not help. For now though, till school lets out in early June, Kody will be having weekly speech therapy treatments to see if he can learn how to control his voice issues. That may or may not work also, but if we don't give it a try, we will never know.
This Thursday Kody has an appointment with his Neurologist out in Orlando. We'll show up with the written DX and then get busy on finding a facility that is willing to treat him.

Other then that..life rolls on and in this house tonight, life rolls on one stomach virus/fever at a time. Last week it hit Kolin and on the way home from the speech therapist, it hit Kody. Yuck!

On a brighter note...I am working full speed ahead on getting the hat site back up and running again. After taking a small burn out break, I have picked up the crochet hooks once again and am in the middle of creating all super cute things newborn. I've got a zillion ideas and I am working at night to make them happen. Expect some hats up real soon.

Welp my friends..it's time for me to get going for tonight.

The Last Of Our Litter

Since Kayara and Adriana moved down South about 6 weeks ago I have been wanting to get my studio room back. It's not quite set up the way I want it yet but the good news, it is there and so are my lights, backdrops and beloved grey card. :0)

PS. Dang, I almost forgot. We have an appointment with a speech Dr. tomorrow afternoon for Kody. We're trying to get the ball rolling so her can get his treatments for his voice. Tomorrow we will get the official diagnoses, then we start scoping out treatment centers. I'll let you all know how that goes by tomorrow night.
