More Football Stuff

Like I mentioned previously, Pop Warner Football is now a huge part of our lives. Five days a week practice, late dinners, blood, sweat, tears {mine, not his}.
But, it's all good [if you can get past my whining} cuz the kid is a lookin' good and his first game is this Saturday.
Unfortunately, it's an away game and I have to take him cuz his Dad has to work and, well, quite frankly...this makes me whine and twitch.
Why? Well, I ummm...OK...I'll put it out there, I can't hardly find my way out of a paper bag.
Yes, it's true I am directionally challenged.
Did I ever tell you the story of when I left Sea World in Orlando and ended up in Cocoa Beach with six kids?
I had a cop laugh at me for a good 10 minutes straight when I asked him to please help me get home.
It was ugly, that's all I have to say about that.

Anyway, here's some pic's from two nights ago...

Kolin is a "left offensive something". Truth be told, I love the game I just don't know much about the sport.
I know, that makes no sense...sorry.

Here he is doing his thing and protecting the kid behind him in the orange shirt who happens to be his really good friend which makes it so much nicer that he is protecting a friend in need.
I think that's right? :0/

This was taken the night before. He was leaving the field, hot, tired and with a brain full of information overload upon learning too many plays to remember. It was one of those times when I had literally no time to compose, I looked up, there he was. Pick up the camera and shoot.
I know it's out of focus but it was one of those things where I would rather have this OOF photo then not to have the photo at all.
I love it. :0)

And this is the same photo but because Leo/Maloy triple dog dared me {or something like that, it was a dare I'm sure lol} to get back into my sepia mode...this is for you my fave Russian Dude in the entire world...

Leo..if you are ever in Florida...you always have a place to stay and a family to hang with. :0)

Kody's b-day was GREAT!!! He had a friend over all day and the boys, they did what boys do best. Played PS3 and took out the air soft guns, protective eye gear and blasted the crap out of each other playing war games, or something like that.
I know it was a boy thing, I stayed in the A/C and out of their way.

We got Bear a weight bench and he LOVES it!
More on that soon, I'm sure.

Well...gotta run, everyone is up and hungry.

Kolin has his school orientation tonight and Kody has his tomorrow morning, bright and early.
Monday morning it is back to school.
Oh joy. lol!

Have a great day everyone!!

GPS. It's a lifesaver as long as you have a decent idea of where you need to be. Name of the park where they are playing or a business close by. SOOOOO worth the money. Some of the cooler phones actually have this built in. We use ours when we travel on vacation and it's a lifesaver when it comes to finding places to eat or shop, in addition to getting you to your destination.

Glad to hear Kody had a nice b-day! We almost got a weight bench for our 15-yr-old but didn't and now I regret it. Oh well ... Christmas is right around the corner.

We MUST be sisters, Kim. I, too, don't know much about all the technical names/plays/calls in football but do enjoy watching the sport! :) As for your lack of direction...you sound JUST like my best friend. (Another reason we must be related somehow?!) She once got me lost in an area I was used to, for crying out loud.

I have a PERFECT gift idea for you from Karl: a GPS!!! That way you'll find the game and only risk being late if you leave home late. You're lucky you at least get to go to the games. My job will keep me from attending about 75% of our son's. :( NEXT YEAR...Varsity will be in my favor as they are Friday night games and I'll be able to do that!

Have a great night - enjoy orientation. I canNOT believe the school year is here already.

Only if it doesn't take from the shoe fund. Name me one girl who doesn't need zebra print stilettos??? LOL!!

LOL - you are TOOOO funny, Kim! I don't usually ask for electronics or gizmos either. :D

As for the zebra stilettos....I'm sure they'll look great on you! Me? A bunion on one foot (WHEN will I ever get that operated on?!) and the fact that I usually stand for 14-17 hours a day DEFinitely rules out those pretty shoes. I'll look forward to seeing a pic of you in them, though, k?

So now I say the shoes AND a GPS from Karl. Since you were so thrilled with that toilet one year I can't imagine he'd argue this idea!! :^]

Good grief! Where do those legs BEGIN!? And what size are those cleats?!

I really love the photo. It DOES match the moment - a blurry unfocused boy is walking in a quiet but still blurry world. I can go on with metaphors forever.

PS Don't they look funny with the "pacifiers" in their mouths? :-D Only football and ice-hockey parents can appreciate that. And they can't TALK while they are in. *wink*

PPS Since I'll be staying with you anyway, can I list your address in my green card application?

Name me one mother who wants to face the child who missed the game because she's... OKAY, I'll sweeten the pill... a topographic cretin? :-P
