Even A Halloween Loving....

Freak like myself can get into the Christmas thing, see...I can, I really, really can. :0)

KidsChristmas2009 copyBLOG

FYI, Karlio insists that when the final edit is made and cards are sent {me, send cards..OK...don't hold your breath} that the "freakin'" gets taken out.
I added it yesterday just for fun, cuz fun is what we do. :0)

Not much else going on. The boys have joined their school's basketball team so they won't get home till late because of practice. I found out that the games will be live via internet, cool huh?

Have a jolly kind of day everyone!!

Oh Christmas Tree 2009

This is by far the earliest we have ever put up the tree.

Put up by Karlio.
Supervised by me.
Decorated by the kiddo's.

ChristmasTree2009

Speaking of kids decorating skills...

Sheila, OMG...do NOT straighten out the star. I know with every bit of you, you want to straighten it sooooo bad but please, please don't.
Take lots of pictures of that tree with the crooked star and I promise when your 5 year old is 15 you'll look back on that crooked star and get the smiley warm fuzzies like mad.
Trust me on this sister friend. :0)

Kolin put up our star this year, he finally got tall enough as to where he didn't need a "lift". {He's 5'5" and barely breaking 100 pounds, hehe)
It's a little crooked and if you look to the left of it you can see wear Kody stuck a Patrick Star from Spongebob on it.
I know it doesn't "belong" there but yet there is this part of me that isn't going to move it.
Why? I don't know, maybe it's because my Bear put it there and I always think to myself "He is here with us to put it on, and that's all that really matters". :0)

That's all for now. I have to send Karlio off to work. He is back on nights again. Bleech.

Oh, and because Kolin's dentist appointment ran late yesterday, we never got the Christmas card photo taken. Today's another day though.

Have a sweet day everyone!!

Christmas Trees And Tall Bears

We did it and it is the earliest I have ever done it.

The Christmas tree is up AND decorated.
Whew...one less thing to do.

Now, if I could just get my Christmas card vision completed. Maybe today, but that totally depends on the weather.
Looks like it will be an "e-card" year again. I swear, I am the world's worst at card giving.

More later, got to run the boys to school.

By the way, Bear has had another growth spurt and I am kind of happy and kind of scared to report, he is now taller then his Dad, hovering somewhere around 5 feet 11 inches.
He's 132 pounds and a solid block of muscle.
Oh and btw, his foot is size something like 13 or maybe even 13 1/2 by now.

I figure it is very likely he will be over 6 feet by this summer.

What happened to my "baby boy"? Somebody stop him!! LOL!!

The Christmas Parade From Hell

Last night we went to the Leesburg Christmas parade, we left after an hour.
People, I swear....I mean seriously rude, obnoxious morons.
No Christmas spirit at all.

So, we left and went to the grocery store and picked up a bag of candy so at the very least the kids could feel like we did something for them last night.
Then we got on home, threw on a pot of coffee and had some pasta, homemade meatballs and cheesy bread.
That was definitely way better then dealing with the pushy buttheads that always seem to creep out of the woodwork.

I'm not trying to sound too harsh but if a family {us} gets there an hour early so we can get a decent spot, why in the world is it necessary to show up 3 minutes after the parade starts and bully your way to the front, blocking all view from the family {us} who got there early and stood in the cold to partake?
Then when asked politely to move over so everybody can see, move even more in the way like some spoiled, got to have my way, super diva.
I don't get it, I guess I never will.
Anyway, lol...it is a very, VERY good thing Karlio quit drinking a while ago cuz if not, there would have been some heads rolling.
But, it's all about the "karma" now, and he figured after "expressing his views loud enough", we should just walk away and enjoy the good karma we will continue to have, that is as long as I do not make any more dumb decisions to upgrade/save money as far as internet services go. :0)

If I walked away with just one good thing last night, it was this photo for sure. It was taken about 30 minutes or so before the parade started...

I love those two, they make my day everyday.

Have a beautiful day everyone. I am thinking, OK...just thinking about putting the tree up today. We'll see, hehe....

The Comment Thing

FYI, The "Comment" thing is driving me insane today.
I click on "Publish" and they disappear, so if you don't see yours then try again please. I didn't delete it on purpose, really.

This Ain't Your Gramma's Roast Turkey

Turkey Day...2009.

Family, friends, fun and one hunk of a outdoor smoked turkey.
Yes...I said it, we smoked our bad boy this year and you know, once you go smoked...there is never really a desire to go back to the all day in the hot oven roasted thing again.

We like things simple {yes, simple like my mind when I decided to switch servers, dumb, dumb, dumb}.
Thanksgiving dinner was, 100% brought on by Karlio, who spends his holiday in the kitchen and never once complains...cuz well, that's his thing.
He cooks, we eat, every one gets along great.
We also like things simplified. The less time we spend on fancy stuff, the more time we get to spend hanging outside in the screened in porch, talking laughing and having fun.

So...to feed our family of 5 this year plus one more {our friend, Beverly}...this was what it was...

We "buffet" styled it inside because it was too beautiful to not eat outside. LOL, yes...that's what we did this year.
And since there wasn't a whole lot, we only had leftovers for two days instead of the mandatory 7.
Go us. :0)

Tonight we are heading off to Leesburg's annual Christmas parade and then most likely hitting up the "Redbox" kiosk machine for a movie or two.

Have a great day everyone!!

OMG I Am Like Soooo Back!

I'll make this one short and sweet so I can update again later when I have time to do it right.

OK, so first things first, we are fine!!

Second, in a crazy moment of dumbness/impulsiveness I decided to ditch Comcast and get another internet provider, seeing as Comcast soooooo lovingly increased my service because we moved from one side of Leesburg to the other by $80 and I thought to myself, "self that is such a rip off" {we've been Comcast customers for 11 years}
Well long story short, the other provider was too slow, never worked right, went on for two minutes, off for three days, took 6 hours to upload a picture...UGH!
So, I bit my lip and switched back to Comcast which meant we were now considered "new customers" and had to wait over a week for someone to press the almighty internet button.
Then they didn't show up. Then I griped. Then they did show up, finally about 3:15 yesterday. WOO-HOO....I settle the hellians down and prepare to get on line when they unthinkable happens....

The crappy weather we were having made EVERYTHING go down for the night.
No TV.
No Phone.
No Computer.

Oh Joy.

Anyway, the kids/Karlio's computer worked this morning and mine, being wireless, which I have no idea if that makes a difference, is now up and on line.

However, the weather is still crappy...keep your fingers crossed. LOL!

Thank you to everyone out there who worried. I did try to get to the library a few times but never could get the college kids to get off and let a middle aged Mom like myself have a go at computer time.

I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE to get back on later. The only thin g that will stop me is if Comcast decided to croak out once again.

The moral of this story is, don't fix what already works.

Lesson learned.

Time for more coffee. :0)

Have a beautiful day everyone and a Very Happy Belated Thanksgiving everyone!!
