The Mustard Seed

“Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”.

InMyRoom

The mustard seed necklace given to him represents, after a little over a year, that he has let God back into his heart and his life. Since then things for my boy have gotten much, much better. His anger and depression have since gone. He smiles, laughs and enjoys life {and girls!} just like any other teen.
Yes, the sadness still rears it's ugly head from time to time BUT he can finally open up and talk about his Dad without tears and hatred towards those he feels responsible.

He goes to teen youth groups, prays, has long talks with God, apologizes to Him all the time for his past behavior and ugly words, and I have to say, he's the new improved Bear and I am so, so proud of him.

I love You Bear!!!!!

When my son and I were hit by a drunk driver in 1998, I held so much anger inside me towards him, even though he did not survive the crash. I could not let go of the anger, but it eventually got better. My bruises when away and my elbow healed. Fast forward to 2004. My husband had become disabled at 39 years old and I found a lump in my breast. I ended up having to have a biopsy. It was determind the lumb was because of the extensive bruising I got from my seat belt when we were hit head on in 1998. All the anger came right back up inside me. I had a renewed hate for this man.

I will never forget going to a Tim McGraw concert in Nashville about the time "Live Like You Were Dying" came out. It was two weeks after my surgery to have the lump removed. When he sang "I gave forgiveness I'd been denying" I just lost it. I realized all the hate I had was only hurting me. I let go of all the hate and anger I had for that man.

What I went through is no comparison to what you all have been through, but, I do understand the anger. I am so glad things are better for your son.

How awesome!! I have read your blog for years, but haven't commented. Please know you are all an example to us as we deal with the struggles in our lives. Praying for all of you!
