Last week Murphy's Law was in full frozen effect when Kolin's 5th grade class, plus one warm weather worshiper volunteer Mom, packed up our multiple layers, winter coats, hats and lunches and set off for "The Sanford Zoo".
Kim's Murphy's Law states...
"If there is an outdoor educational class trip to take, it will be the coldest, record breaking, day of the year".And...it was.
Therefore, with the whole
"my fingers are so freakin' frozen I can't feel them anymore, why don't they sell coffee here, when can we go home, I need a Starbucks NOW" poor attitude I had, not many photos were actually taken.
Here's a few though...
Kolin, obviously thrilled about having to wait his turn to touch 42 degree water with bugs and stuff in it...

Freezing his keester off examining the pond life under a microscope...

We were lucky enough to escape indoors for about 8 minutes. Whiney
me children, made that possible.
Awesome, cool lizard...

Another lizard of some sort. Click to enlarge to really see the horny detail, I mean...scaly things, or whatever..just click.

And this beauty, an eagle who stayed so still I actually thought it was stuffed, till it moved and I jumped about 3 or 4 feet upwards. Darn thing scared the life outta me.
I am not one with nature.

That's about it..it was time to go back outside, much to the complaining of
myself those poor innocent Florida raised children and learn more about bugs, plants and OMG, F*R*O*G*S!
{sorry, I don't say the "f" word cuz we all know exactly my take on bug eyed creatures with sticky feet. *pass out now, why don't I*
Oh..one more thing, did I mention our bus driver that day was straight right out of the Simpson's cartoon? Remember this name,
"Otto" and watch the Simpsons one day. Yeah...it was an adventure, that's for dang sure.
Yesterday, it was a balmy 75 degrees and we took off for Fruitland Parks annual "Winterfest" celebration at our local Methodist church. It was fun, it was warm, and it was a great way to keep my two hellraisers entertained for 4 hours straight. Don't you just love when the kid's get old enough as to where there is no need for constant watching over. Yeah..it was great, cut them loose and work my way over to the chili contest in peace. Fun times baby, I'm telling ya.
Those photos still live in my camera so at some point today, I'll pull them off.
In the meantime..I've got to get going because hats need to be shipped tomorrow and there is only one way of that happening..if I get off of here and get it done.
Also..just a quick note..a nasty little bout of food poisoning {thank you so much Wal-Mart's not so fresh as I thought raw vegies} took me down for a little bit, so If I have not responded to any e-mails, I will get that done today too. I'm not ignoring you...I'm really just trying to catch up, which is how I spend most of my life anyway. lol!
Have a great day everyone!!!!!
Love, Kim
