Halloween Lanterns

In preparation of Halloween, I like to decorate the inside of the house too. It's just plain fun, plus walking in and seeing orange colors throughout the house gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, ya know?

I told you all how I love my paper lanterns, right? I have these hanging up in the dining area, I like them a lot. :0)



We just picked up a cool shelf unit for FREE! I love it when we happen to be in the right place at the right time. The backing of it was white and that didn't work well with me. So, per my request, Karlio painted it black and it is now holding various fall decorations on each shelf. The black in the back makes those pumpkin colors pop.

We figure it'll be great for an every holiday/season theme shelf.
I always wanted one...now I got one. Yay Me!
Yay Karlio for finding it and bringing it home!

Kolin went back to school today but Bear is still home and miserable. He's got a headache that refuses to budge no matter that he has had his max dosage of his pain med's.
It really sucks watching him in pain and there isn't anything else I can possibly give him. :0(

The Hawk

Imagine walking, with the one you luv, into your screened-in porch/Florida room first thing in the morning with a cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee and an everything bagel and finding this beauty right outside that porch staring right down at you...



That was how our morning started today. :0)

Fast forward to real life...

After that beautiful bird let me snap a few photos of him, the boys both woke up with a stomach virus {no school "crappy" day today, hehe} and Kenny, the bug guy came to spray for fire ants and palm sized spiders {gotta love Florida wildlife}.
I had to cancel and reschedule the boys physicals for today.
I'm wondering if I have enough fixins' for chicken & rice soup. I do have the chicken and I do have the rice so I guess that's half the battle.
I got news over the weekend that damn near knocked me for a loop.
I am behind on just about every project I start.
I go to bed by 9, I think I am getting old-ish. {I know that has nothing to do with anything but it's been on my mind}
I need to email my BFFL Sheila today, no matter how busy I get, no matter how many times my OCD demands I Lysol & Clorox wipe everything in the house, no matter how many times I add too, take away or change every Halloween and Fall decoration I got going on inside and out.
Today I will check my email and don't care how bad my eyeballs feel like they will fall out of my face, I will get done.

For right this moment though, I am going to put down the clicker and go hug my Bear, who is, as I type this, sitting on the sofa holding up his very hurting noggin. My poor baby. :0(

It is getting difficult, I mean seriously difficult to get a photo of those two together.
They poke, complain, and well..let's just say in the 7 minutes it took to snap about 20 pic's similar to that one, I owe myself about $19.00 in "outtake/lens fund" dollars.

I think I may have to stick to things like flowers and Halloween decorations, they don't complain much. :0)

I hear a lot of peep's rave about garage light and that picture was taken in the garage, facing west at about 5 PM. OK so I haven't found my love of garage light yet but I suppose if I keep working at it, I just might one day.

I never did go food shopping yesterday, so I better get going and get 'er done today. The last of the Rice Krispies is being shoveled into one starvin' 12 year olds face as I type. LOL!

Happy October everyone!!

This is probably the only month I kind of miss living up North {see Sheila, I admitted it..hehe}. The trees, leaves, apples, the cooler air and the scent of October...Mmmmmmmmm.

Ah well, if you can't live it, fake it right?
The floral I posted today is actually a $5.00 Wal-Mart arrangement that I keep on my dining room table. Yes, it's phoney but what can you do when the majority of trees here are palms and fruits? :0)

On a happier note, in about 6 or so weeks the whole town of Leesburg, FL will be smelling like freshly squeezed orange juice, all day, every day.
Winter is orange season and we have an orange juice making plant just blocks away from where we live now. All day long you see open semi's full of oranges making their way through our streets.
I'll take oranges over apples any day. LOL!
